skirted in long, delicate greens,

the willow trees.

did i attempt to determine a fork?

i meant the opposite.

i meant: any manner of branch

attachment is worthy.

interlocking, bifurcating – all origami

folds delectable.

heartwood, latewood, my wounds

do not require redressing.

you can park your ladder, rigging,

hand saw, your first-aid kit.

having opposed, having withstood,

having weathered, my wood

will go without pruning
